Refugio de Vida, Life Refuge, began as a burden for the women and young ladies of San Ramón who had no hope. The burden grew into a vision to include a local church and camp/retreat center for not only the city of San Ramón but also for all of Chanchamayo and surrounding areas. Refugio de Vida is grounded on 2 Samuel 22:3, “The God of my strength, in Whom I will trust; my Shield and the Horn of my salvation, my Stronghold and my Refuge.” God is our Refuge. All can run to Him for help and healing.

LIGHT FOR LIVING MISSIONARY
STEPHANIECRAWFORD

Jesus said in Mark 16:15, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation,” which includes go and preach to those who are lost in the Chanchamayo district, specifically San Ramón, Peru, where approximately 95% of the people are non-believers. Hrt4Peru has joined with Peruvian Pastor Jorge Sipion and his wife Charo in their local Baptist church, Jesucristo El Señor Church, where I am an affiliate missionary with Light for Living Ministries.

When Jesus came to the earth over 2,000 years ago, He came to “seek and to save that which was lost”. I am commanded by the Gospel to seek out those who are lost and impart to them the good news of Jesus Christ.

The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:3, “But if our Gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost”. What we see in San Ramón are people blinded to the Truth. The primary ministries of hrt4Peru are teaching/mentoring women, teens, and children. Additionally, God has given hrt4Peru a vision for Refugio de Vida - Life Refuge. The women’s shelter will assist women who have suffered death (widows), divorce, sexual or physical abuse and allow them time to heal.  There will also be a local Baptist church and a Christian camp on the grounds. The land has been purchased and cleared; construction will proceed as funds are provided.

There is no doubt that God is at work in San Ramón, Peru. It will take prayer and financial partners to support hrt4Peru and Refugio de Vida for the work to continue. I would be honored to meet with you to share the burden God has placed on my heart for San Ramón. This can be done in a variety of ways – sharing with small groups, family gatherings, or by providing a video overview of my work to better acquaint you and your church with this ministry and calling.
