A WORD FROM GOD As-Salaamu Alaikum! I would like to share some Good News with you today, my Muslim friend. God the Creator - Jesus is more than a prophet of God. Unlike Abraham, Moses, and Noah, He is God, the Living Word. As the Holy Qur'an states, "O Mary! Allah giveth thee Glad tidings of a Word from Him; his Name will be Christ Jesus" (Surah 3:45). This means that Jesus is a Word that God put in the womb of Mary.
God the Word - God the Word created the wonderful planet called Earth by the creative power of His Word, when He said "Let there be light" (Taurat: Genesis 1:3). God the Word created the earth, then came down as flesh in the person of Jesus and walked on the earth He had created. In the same way, God the Word spoke His creative Word (Himself), into the womb of Mary and she conceived without any man having touched her. Mary did not know what was about to happen. But, she saw an angel who told her that the Word of God was about to become a baby in her womb. God's Spirit then overshadowed (breathed upon) her and brought this miraculous conception into being. This is why when the angel told Mary that she was with child of the Holy Spirit she- said, "Be it unto me according to thy Word" (Injil: Luke 1:38). This miraculous birth cannot be explained from a human standpoint. What really happened was that God the Limitless, sinless One chose to limit Himself to a human body. This is the meaning of the Scripture that says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.... And the Word became flesh, [in Jesus, a human being] and dwelt among us ...... (Injil: John 1: 1-3, 14). Although in a human body, Jesus was still God.
What is in a Name? - Jesus is the name God gave to His Word (Himself) which became flesh. Why did He have to do this? Because His ministry on Earth would be like that of a son who represents his father. His ministry would be as a Redeemer or Savior of man- kind from their sins. To do this, He must put on flesh that can die, because God the Spirit cannot die. The angel's message to Joseph to whom Mary was engaged was, "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: [Savior or salvation] for he shall save his people from their sins" (Injil: Matthew 1:21). Jesus' Coming was Prophesied Thousands of Years Before God revealed His coming to earth as the Word through the mouths of men called prophets. The Prophet Isaiah prophesied "Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God with us]" (Writings of the Prophets: Isaiah 7:14). Each prophet from Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David (to name a few), down to John the Baptist had one revelation, one word, and one sermon. But God said one day "Let us become visible and speak." This was when the Word became flesh and dwelt among us (Injil: John 1:14).You may wonder if Jesus Himself ever personally said "I am God.'Well, one day Philip, one of His disciples said, "Lord, shew us the Father [God] and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, 'Have I been so long time with you, and yet host thou not known me, Philip? He that hoth seen me hath seen the Father [God], and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father [God]" (injil: John 14:8,9)? The "I AM" - You may ask "If Jesus was the name given to God in the flesh, what was He called before He became flesh?" He was called (among other names) The Beginning and The End, The Alpha and The Omega, and the I AM. When the religious leaders of His day got angry with Him and said, "We are sons of Abraham," Jesus replied "Before Abraham was, I AM" (injil: John 8:58). They regarded this statement as blasphemy because they could not under- stand how Jesus, who was only thirty years old, was before the Patriarch and Prophet Abraham. This is why they crucified Jesus. However, what they did not know was that death could not hold Jesus because He was holding death. The grave could not hold Him either because He was holding the grave. Therefore after Jesus arose from the dead, He was still the great "I AM."The prophet Moses (Musa) was the first to hear "I ANV'when God told him to go to Pharoah and deliver the children of Isreal out of bondage in Egypt. When Moses asked God whom he should say sent him, what is His Name? God replied, "I AM THAT I AM: ...I AM hath sent me unto you" (Taurat: Exodus 3:14). Therefore, my Muslim friend, to think of Jesus, God's Word made flesh, as only a man or another prophet means you have not yet fully understood the Limitless Being He is. But, it is possible for you to receive this revelation RIGHT NOW! "How?" you ask. Because "God, who ... spake in times past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us through his Son, [the Word] whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds;" (Injd: Hebrews 1:1-2).
Invitation - We cannot understand this revelation with our natural minds. We must have God's Word renew our minds so we can discern spiritual truth. You may ask, "How can I receive this spiritual truth?" By believing and receiving God's revelation of Himself as Jesus, the Word, as your personal Savior and Word from God. ne moment you do this God will give you a new spiri- tual life with new desires to know Him more. He will renew your mind by His Holy Spirit as you read His written Word. You will then find that every revelation from God will make you hungry for another. You can never come to the end of God's revelation but you will find that one revelation is just the beginning of the next. Prayer - You have to start somewhere. Start Right now! Today! Say this prayer of invitation. "Lord Jesus, thank you for revealing yourself to me as God's Word that became flesh and lived among us. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that You alone are the TRUE PATH to the life of God within me. You have said 'I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me' (Injil: John 14:6). I am so glad that I can now know you personally as 'ABBA FATHER.' Thank you for coming into my life today. I gladly receive you as my personal Savior, my Lord, and my God. My pilgrimage (Hajj) is now my journey through life and I pray that each day will bring me nearer my goal to be with Christ Jesus, my heavenly King forever. From this day, I promise by your help, to break all ties with Satan, now that You are my new Master, Lord, and Friend. Hallelujah!"
